The Brief
JV Trade Services came to us as JV Electrical, a business that had grown well beyond its original electrical roots. Over time they had expanded into gas, heating and cooling, and rental compliance, building a comprehensive property services offering across Melbourne’s west. Despite servicing over 10,000 properties, the brand didn’t reflect the scale or competency of the business at all. The two founders needed help getting on the same page about how to communicate their shared value and position in the market.
We ran our Brand Bullseye process to define the brand platform, clarify their positioning, and give the partners dedicated time to work through questions they wouldn’t otherwise make time for. Part of that process included reviewing the business name itself.
Outcome
One of the most significant outcomes was a simple name change: from JV Electrical to JV Trade Services. It’s not glamorous, but it immediately communicated the full breadth of what the business offers and removed a limitation that had been holding back the brand since the expansion began.
The new brand appearance system is distinctive for its simplicity and professionalism in a category where appearance is often an afterthought. On the road, JV Trade Services vehicles are immediately recognisable. The brand looks and feels like a business that has serviced over 10,000 properties, because now it actually signals that competency.
Beyond the visual identity, the Bullseye process proved just as valuable for the founders personally. It gave them the structured time and external facilitation to align on what their business stands for, how to talk about it, and where they are headed. They came away with confidence in their positioning and a clear way to communicate their value.
