This was the 6th year running we have designed the annual review for global construction company McConnell Dowell.
McConnell Dowell’s strategic focus for 2019 was returning to a profitable position following a number of difficult years. The groups performance and hard work was the result of a three year strategy which was finally paying off. Focusing on the good news, the report needed to clearly and confidently tell their story and celebrate their success.
Our approach split the report into 3 sections: performance and highlights introduction up the front, projects and business unit updates in the middle and financials at the back.
The front introduction section sets the tone of the report with a minimal, clean and clear design that communicates a position of strength and stability. This first section of the report focuses on data and information.
The second section brings updates from their business units and focuses on the impressive projects delivered around the world illustrated through hero spreads and vivid photography.
Being an important object that represented the company’s success, careful consideration was given to paper stock throughout the document. A tactile uncoated stock was chosen for the text-heavy introduction, highlights and financial pages. This was paired with a beautifully contrasting high quality gloss coated stock for the image-heavy projects section.
