Where are you from?
Indonesia-born, Melbourne based.
What inspires you?
Everything! People, food, places, nature, movies, TV series, anything that tickle my senses (not in a weird way of course)!
Avatar (2009) by James Cameron. Yes, the blue alien people Avatar, not the bald Airbender one.
Okay, I must be honest, the plot was quite straightforward, but the visual was just too stunning that I can’t get it out of my head! I revisit the movie too often (despite its 3 hours long duration).
Favourite album cover?
SHINee’s The Story of Light. I’ve been a fan of the K-Pop group SHINee for over ten years, so I’d think of their albums immediately. This album is very personal as it was released after they lost one of their members, Jonghyun, to suicide. The cover uses three primary colours and basic shapes to convey ‘permanence and continuity’, showing the fans that they are sticking together and continuing Jonghyun’s legacy! At the same time, the fox was an ode to the book ‘The Little Prince’ by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, one of Jonghyun’s favourite books.
Favourite holiday destination?
As of now, Spain; colourful arts and culture scene, the unique architecture, and fantastic food!
What 6 people, living or dead, would you invite to a dinner party if you could?
Choi Minho, Audrey Hepburn, Frieda Kahlo, Sam Smith, Taylor Swift.
Coffee or Tea?
Coffee coffee coffee.
What are you most passionate about outside work?
My family and friends, my mini poodle Zeus, and desserts.
